The Thirty Six Stratagems "is a summary of ancient Chinese military strategies and a valuable heritage of military strategy. In order to facilitate people's memorization of these thirty-six ingenious strategies, a scholar took each word from the Thirty Six Stratagems and composed a poem in order:" The Golden Jade and Sandalwood Public Strategy, used to capture bandits, fish and snakes laugh in the sea, sheep, tigers, peaches, and mulberry trees are separated, trees walk in secret and become foolish, pots are empty and guests suffer, beautiful corpses are on the beams of houses, and Wei and Guo are attacked repeatedly. The entire poem, except for 'Tan Gong Ce', uses two characters to represent a plan to 'conquer Guo'. Each character contains one of the thirty-six plans, including: shedding the shell of a cicada, throwing bricks to attract jade, using a knife to kill, waiting for trouble, catching thieves and kings, taking advantage of the fire to rob, closing the door to catch thieves, fishing in troubled waters, striking grass to startle snakes, deceiving the world, sowing discord, hiding a knife in a smile, taking things by hand, diverting tigers away from the mountains, Li Dai's peach trees becoming stiff, pointing fingers at mulberry trees and cursing at locust trees, watching fire from the other bank, flowering on trees, crossing Chen Cang secretly, walking to the top, pretending to be crazy, taking advantage of the situation, drawing fuel from the bottom of the pot, empty city plan, suffering. Meat strategy, distant and close attack, anti guest strategy, climbing up the stairs, stealing beams and replacing pillars, creating something out of nothing, beauty strategy, borrowing corpses to revive, attacking the east and west, surrounding Wei to save Zhao, chain tactics, and using fake roads to attack Guo.
The original book is arranged by name and divided into six sets: victory strategy, enemy strategy, attack strategy, melee strategy, combined strategy, and defeat strategy.
