Editor's Pick
Your child may still be young, so you can try choosing the four volume animal novel series "King Shen Shixi? Phonetic Reader". This book selects the most representative short and medium length works by Shen Shixi since the 1980s. Classified according to different animals, the legendary stories of wild animals such as hunting dogs, leopards, brown bears, wild boars, foxes, white elephants, tigers, etc. are vividly presented in a powerful yet delicate, rough yet sharp writing style, which not only embodies the wildness of animals, but also has a strong wild jungle atmosphere. readable
Containing the author's personal experiences, interesting stories, and knowledge about various related animals, it is easy to understand and directly expresses the beauty and ugliness, goodness and evil of primitive life.
Good read
He uses clear and beautiful language, deep brushstrokes, to expound on a profound understanding of nature and life, integrating literary, intellectual, and entertaining elements, and bringing people profound thinking.
Reading endurance
He depicts the habits and lives of animals, revealing their unknown and rich emotional world, showcasing the cruel competition, tenacious survival, and relentless pursuit in life, which is gripping. Shen Shixi's works delve into the inner world of animals, capturing the trustworthy characteristics of animal psychology for readers and reflecting the personality and fate of animal protagonists. This style has made him a leading figure in contemporary Chinese animal fiction, which originated in the 1980s. He has put into practice his aesthetic experience and fresh and unique philosophical insights into animal fiction, and has become a brand in the hearts of many readers over the years.
Abstract
The reason why animal novels are more attractive than other types of novels is that this theme is the easiest to pierce through the shell of human culture and the various hypocritical appearances of civilized society, and can directly depict the primitive life that combines ugliness and beauty without any concealment.
Human culture and social civilization will constantly update with the changes of the times, but the spiritual core of cruel competition, tenacious survival, and pursuit of glory in life will never change.
Just like in "The Tomb of Elephants": the mother elephant Baya faced a sharp conflict between her child and lover, but still destroyed her love and fulfilled it. In "Twilight", the jackals sacrificed their old age and weak health for the benefit of their population. The various characters in the novel have already transcended simple animal images, projecting and overlapping with humans and society, making you love and hate them, laughing and shedding tears for them.
Therefore, animal novels have more reasons to win readers and pursue immortality.
