Synopsis
The Calligraphy Level Examination Training Textbook is carefully compiled based on the learning needs of candidates and primary and secondary school students, combined with the characteristics of the examination. We take the most popular classic calligraphy books of all dynasties as a model, starting from reality, and follow the principle of gradual progress in content arrangement. We have provided detailed practical guidance on the characteristics of brush strokes and the rules of character structure in calligraphy works, as well as the rules of structure, layout, and signature methods.
The regular script standard characters in the "Calligraphy Level Examination Training Textbook" are selected from the Tang Dynasty calligrapher Ouyang Xun's "Jiucheng Palace Liquan Inscription", Yan Zhenqing's "Duobao Pagoda Stele", Liu Gongquan's "Xuanmi Pagoda Stele", the running script standard characters are selected from the calligraphy sage Wang Xizhi's "Lanting Preface" and Jizi's "Shengjiao Preface", and the clerical script standard characters are selected from the Han Dynasty famous stele "Cao Quan Stele". These classic works best represent the style of calligraphy masters and are also the first choice for future generations to choose calligraphy.
In order to cooperate with teaching, in addition to selecting exemplary characters from the original stele inscriptions, this post selects relevant radicals from other characters in the original stele inscriptions that cannot be selected from the original stele inscriptions in the collection of characters. Based on the law and spirit of the original stele inscriptions, it is repeatedly compared and considered to be derived from the exemplary characters without any ghostwriting. And use computer design to combine and coordinate, without blindly copying. This guides learners to draw analogies and apply them in various ways to achieve twice the result with half the effort.
One of the major features of this post is to restore all the standard characters to ink, making them closer to the true works of calligraphy masters, while moderately enlarging and using white thin lines to outline the strokes. Through intuitive and clear reading of calligraphy, learners can more easily understand the characteristics of the master's calligraphy style, in order to improve the effectiveness of calligraphy basic training.
The "Calligraphy Level Examination Training Textbook" includes "Ouyang Xun (Jiucheng Palace Stele) Fine Lecture and Refinement", "Yan Zhenqing (Duobao Pagoda Stele) Fine Lecture and Refinement", "Liu Gongquan (Xuanmi Pagoda Stele) Fine Lecture and Refinement", "Wang Xizhi (Lanting Preface) Fine Lecture and Refinement", "Hanli (Caoquan Stele) Fine Lecture and Refinement", which facilitates candidates and primary and secondary school students to choose their favorite calligraphy styles for calligraphy practice and preparation, laying a good foundation for further calligraphy creation.
