Towel bedding: With its good breathability, easy washing, and storage, it has become a must-have bedding for many people in summer.
The quality of towels can be identified from the following aspects:
(1) Look at the woolen circles. A high-quality towel quilt has many and long loops in each square eye on both sides, rich and soft, and has the advantages of easy water absorption and storage; Poor quality towels have short and few loops.
(2) Look at the weight. A high-quality towel quilt not only has long and abundant loops, but also has a heavy weight. When choosing, compare several options by hand.
(3) Check the softness and firmness. The main difference is whether the towel blanket is made of mature yarn or raw yarn. Mature yarn is soft and durable, with strong sweat absorption, while raw yarn has a hard hand feel and weak water absorption. If the hand feel is not obvious, take a small amount of water and drip it onto the towel from a height of 30 centimeters. The water droplets are immediately absorbed by the towel, which is the mature yarn, and the slow absorption is the raw yarn.
(4) Check the quality of weaving. Spread the towel flat or observe it through the sunlight to see if there are any weaving defects such as broken warp, broken weft, exposed bottom, pulled hair, loose road, uneven loops, burrs, curled edges, toothed edges, and skipped stitches. Finally, we also need to check if there is any color bleeding. Appearance defects such as stains, skew, and blurriness.
Cleaning method
(1) If the towel is not too dirty, dry cleaning can be used. After removing the oil stains, wipe the areas contaminated with gasoline with a dry towel and wait for the gasoline to evaporate before wearing it.
(2) If the towel is too dirty, only use the overall water washing method. Soak the towel in cold water for 20 minutes first. Pour about 2 tablespoons of laundry detergent into water at a temperature of 20-30 ℃ and stir well. Then add a towel that has been removed from the water and squeezed out of moisture, and soak for 5-10 minutes. Remove the towel from the detergent and lay it flat on a clean surface. Use a soft bristled brush dipped in the detergent to gently scrub from inside out. After cleaning thoroughly, put the towel in detergent and rinse it a few times. Then rinse it twice in warm water at 30 ℃, and rinse it three times in clean water to completely remove detergent residue. Wrap the rinsed towel in a dry towel and gently absorb the moisture, then air dry it in sunlight or a well ventilated place. After drying, gently pat the towel with a small stick to restore its original fluffy and soft texture.
Maintenance Method
If there are no obvious dirt stains on the towel, there is no need to clean the new towel. Wrap it in a breathable item (such as a organizing bag), put a camphor ball in it to prevent insect infestation, and then store it in a ventilated and dry wardrobe. Be careful not to put heavy pressure on it. In summer and autumn, there is a lot of rain. After the rainy season, it is best to take out the towels and dry them to prevent mold growth; If mold spots are found, they can be wiped with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol, then wiped clean with a clean damp towel, dried thoroughly, and stored properly. But be careful not to expose it to sunlight, otherwise the new quilt may fade into an old one.
If you want to clean towels, be careful not to use too high water temperature and neutral detergent. After washing, gently pat the padding with a clothes hanger to restore its fluffiness and prevent mold growth. It is best to use specialized towel cleaning agents for washing towels. Due to their neutral nature, they can reduce the damage to protein fibers and have excellent washing power and protective conditioning effects. After washing, they can maintain the luster and internal fluffiness of the towel fabric. When cleaning a towel, first soak it in clean water, then add 20-30 grams of towel cleaning agent and 4 kilograms of warm water to make a washing solution. Soak for 20 minutes, use a soft bristled brush to clean the dirt on the bedding surface, and then rinse it with clean water. In short, as long as you take good care of yourself, when winter comes, you can be the first to wear a brand new towel and enjoy comfort and warmth.
Types and identification knowledge of towel products
A single-sided towel with loops is called a single-sided towel, and a double-sided towel with loops is called a double-sided towel. The density of towels is 84-240 per 10 centimeters in warp density and 142-224 per 10 centimeters in weft density. The weight of a towel is mainly determined by the height of the loop. The amount of yarn used for looped yarn accounts for about 60%, warp yarn accounts for 22%, and weft yarn accounts for 18%. The raw material used for towels is mainly cotton.
(1) Weaving defects
It mainly includes broken warp, broken weft, exposed (i.e. unfurred) pulling, thinning, uneven loops, flat cloth pulling (referring to the back of a single face towel), burrs, curled edges, serrated edges, and stitch skipping needles. The above problems can usually be identified by looking through sunlight or observing them flat.
(2) Appearance defects
Mainly including color errors, color mixing, rust stains, stains, oil stains, skewed wood prints, and unclear mold. This is a problem with printing and dyeing, which can usually be identified by visual acuity.
(3) Brittle and defective products
This is due to improper bleaching and coloring treatment, resulting in the oxidation or hydrolysis of cellulose, causing the fabric to become brittle. Severe cases can be easily punctured with one hand. Generally, fabrics that are gray white or have a gray color are prone to this issue. Or extract two cotton yarns from the fabric. If the sound of yarn breakage is crisp, it indicates good quality; There is no crisp sound, indicating a problem.
(4) Weight
If the yarn is woven tightly, it will have strong water absorption performance. Generally, towels with standard weight are heavier than those with less cotton thread, so an important indicator of the quality of a towel is its weight, with weight indicating better quality. The quality grading of towel products is based on a comprehensive evaluation of internal quality and appearance quality, and is divided into first, second, and third grade products. Products below third grade are considered substandard.
