The Walkman has always held a pivotal position in the domestic multimedia market, and many classic models have also created sales myths for speakers. As of the first half of 2010, the sales of R1 series speakers have exceeded 10 million units, which is enough to make products in the same industry look up to. The three currently in service R101T06, R101V, and R101T North American versions have a generally uniform appearance, but there are still some differences in details. The R101T06 has a similar appearance to the R101V, while the R101T North American version is more exaggerated and sharp. Although positioned in the entry-level market, the workmanship of all three speakers is excellent, and they stand out in terms of neutral price compared to other speaker products in the same price range.

In terms of appearance, the Walkman R101T06 speaker comes in two color schemes, with black and gray as the main color tones of the box. The square shape is quite elegant, reflecting a simple and generous taste in appearance. The introduction of a rounded line controller further reflects the meticulous attention to detail of the Walkman in entry-level products. First, let's take a look at the subwoofer. The surface of the R101T06 subwoofer is covered with a layer of PVC frosted effect leather, which feels good. The connection between the corners of the box is tight, without any burrs, and the walker has not neglected the workmanship due to the entry-level product.

We also put some effort into the inversion hole in front of the subwoofer, and the plastic material around it has been highlighted, especially the black version of the inversion hole, which, combined with the "Edifier" logo, has a very obvious decorative effect, adding a lot of color to the simple box.

Of course, the R101T06 is not without its features. The 4-inch subwoofer adopts a black composite paper basin design, and the rubber folding ring has moderate hardness. The box size of 158 (W) × 226 (H) × 208 (D) mm limits the space occupied for placement. The wooden box subwoofer eliminates resonance and provides a good carrier for bass release. The dual chamber design with built-in speakers makes the sound quality transparent and powerful. In addition, the subwoofer also adopts a "ground boosting" design, with the subwoofer unit located below the box and slightly lifted up by four legs. Although the 4-inch subwoofer unit is not large, the low-frequency effect is very obvious.

A 3.5mm audio output interface is provided on the back of the subwoofer for connecting to the satellite box, with audio input and power lines next to it, which is very simple and practical.

Compared to the simple and heavy weight of the R101T06 low speaker, its satellite box design is compact and exquisite. Different from the traditional square structure, it adopts a special integrated design of bracket and box body, which makes the satellite box present a certain elevation angle as a whole, enhances the directionality of sound propagation, and provides a better listening effect.

Removing the black mesh cover on the front panel of the satellite box reveals the use of a 50mm x 90mm outer diameter mid to high frequency unit with an output power of 2W x 2, which is sufficient to meet daily listening needs. The speaker unit, like the bass unit, also adopts anti magnetic design, and the placement space is not limited. In addition, the relatively small size of the 2.1 speaker system also enhances the applicability of the R101T06.
